Synchronous - matched with action on screen
Non simultaneous - sound that happens before the image
Direct sound - recorded at time of filming
Post synchronisation dubbing - adding sound after filmed
Off screen - can hear but not see, happening off screen
Sound perspective - refers to distance of sound
Sound editing :
Sound bridge - sound over a visual transition
Voice over - character voice over clip
Sonic flashback - sound that is used earlier in the film
Film music - theme music / soundtrack
